All the people involved in diagnosing our old heater's demise with internal pictures etc were so kind and professional, and helpful in meeting our needs choosing a new heater. Then today Damon and Nathan installed our new heater. they did an excellent job and left the area very neat and clean. We are so glad we called Shraer Heating and Air Coditioning. Also people, what a special thank you you all presented to us, how very nice! we are touched!

As you can see from my previous review, we've always had great experiences with Jake. Every time we've spoken with him, he's been kind, patient, and thorough in answering all our questions. Jake even took the time to explain different packages. Originally we weren't sure which one to choose but Jake spoke highly of each one not making us feel less then for not choosing the highest or making us feel the lowest package was bad. If you know what I mean. When contractors try to upsell. Jake was thorough with all and the positives of each.

There was a misunderstanding with the system we chose since we wanted zoning for specific rooms, but Jake quickly upgraded our equipment at no additional cost. He went above and beyond to resolve all of our concerns and even helped connect us with an additional contractor to address the lack of insulation above our garage.

Overall, Jake has consistently provided excellent service and support for our family, our needs and our home.

High marks for Senior Tech Chris and Apprentice Ryan on today's pre-winter heat-pump/furnace service. Their professional check-list approach to every component's function and for every voltage and every pressure reading gave me high confidence our 10-year-old system was by-the-book done right. Their answers to my probing questions confirmed Schraer treats their employees right (see "2nd" below), which is everything for retaining the best techs.

As a CPA (retired), I know exactly how to get the best $-value from every big ticket item I buy. HVACs are definitely big ticket. Proper technical servicing are a must to keep big ticket system running strong and long. Knowing how together the best $-value for both is a 2-step process.

- 1st, do the background homework. Read the reviews, especially Consumer Reports for manufacturer equipment and BBB for vendor service. Talk with customers. Talk with installers. Talk with techs. If you talk with sales or marking folks, take a few grains of salt. Shop around. Compare prices. Get firm bids if possible.

- 2nd, press-to-test the techs or installers who actually do the work. Strike up a friendly conversation when they arrive at your home. In a roundabout way, ask how their company treats employees compared with other companies their worked for in the past. Ask about their boss. Is he/she easy or difficult to work for? Listen more to their body language than their actual words. You'll be amazed at what is shared. You'll know the true answers. When I asked Chris, both his body language and words spoke loud spoke loud and clear--extremely satisfied with Schraer and his boss. Ryan agreed with both.

Employers and bosses who treat their employees right keep the best employees. The best employees provide the best value services. I've never been sorry going with the best.

Ten years ago I purchased a new Dual Fuel Heat-pump/Furnace. Schraer came out on top. Not a surprise. We had used Schraer for the 12 years prior for regular checkups to keep our home's original 1985 system alive until age 30. Pretty remarkable.

So, why did I take this time to plug Schraer Heating & AC? Nothing in it for me. I don't know the owner(s) or any management. Just know Schraer has great techs. The "why" for this review is simple gratitude for 22 years of excellent and honest service, and best-value prices.

Nuff said. Pete Gavornik, Lake Sherwood, MO
